Justin Bieber has bravely opened up about the time his own security had to ‘check his pulse’ every night before making a decision to change his life.
The 30-year-old ‘Peaches’ singer has shared with fans an insight into what his life once looked like when he was struggling with addiction.
Speaking on the Justin Bieber: Seasons docuseries, the A-lister looked back about his return music amid dealing with his own personal struggles including Lyme disease, drug addiction and the mental toll that took on him.

One clip from the doc sees Justin’s wife and now mother of his child, Hailey, explain: “Justin and I were never really in each other’s lives until he chose to get sober and was trying to come off of the drugs, almost kind of himself.”
Opening up about the reason he ‘decided to stop’, Justin revealed: ” I felt like I was like, like, bro, I was like, dying.
“My security and stuff were coming into the room at night to check my pulse – like people don’t know how serious it got, like it was legit crazy scary.”
He went on to share that he would wake up in the morning and the ‘first thing’ he would do would be ‘popping a pill’ and ‘smoking a blunt’ before ‘starting the day’.
“So it just got scary,” the singer reflected.

Justin went on to explain exactly how he changed things around, recalling: “I basically said to myself, ‘God, if you’re real, you get me through this season of stopping these pills and stuff, and if you do, I’ll do the rest of the work’, and then I did that, and then I was good from there.”
He went on to confess that he ‘never did the actual work’, adding: “I got off the pills, but I never went to the root of everything.”
In an interview with Vogue, the ‘Baby’ hit-maker reiterated how he used drugs as a coping mechanism.
“Drugs put a screen between me and what I was doing,” she shared. “It got pretty dark. I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing.”

The Canadian singer left fans concerned for his wellbeing
In recent years, former teenage superstar Justin Bieber has seemingly taken a backseat from the spotlight.
Since achieving global fame at the young age of just 17, the now 30-year-old has interacted less and less with the public, particularly after enduring numerous health ailments over the last five years.
And last night, the Canadian hitmaker instigated even more concern over his wellbeing after sharing a snap on social media of himself in tears.
Now, his wife Hailey has weighed in on the speculation over his health.

Taking to Instagram, Justin – who is married to influencer and make-up guru Hailey Bieber, as of 2018 – posted a series of seemingly unrelated photos to his personal account, two of which were selfies of him crying.
The other snaps in the ‘dump’ including numerous shots of him performing on stage some years earlier, a zoomed in photo of some marijuana, a black and white picture of a friend and a rather unusual image of a treehouse.
Having not provided a complimentary caption explaining the reason behind his cryptic photo collection, thousands of fans naturally became concerned for the star, who has suffered several physical and mental health issues in recent years.
The ‘Baby’ hitmaker has been open about his battle with both depression and anxiety at several points in his impressive career, and discussed his addiction to lean, pills and hallucinogenic mushrooms when he first reached stardom.
In 2020, Justin broke the news to his fans that he’d been diagnosed with Lyme disease, as well as infectious mononucleosis, which hugely impacted his overall health.

Just two years later, the chart-topping musician received the news that he suffers the rare Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 2, which had left half of his face paralysed.
Since then, Justin has pulled out of several global performances, later releasing a statement explaining that he needed to spend time putting his health first.
After cancelling all of the remaining tour dates across Latin America in 2022 following just one performance, he wrote on social media: “After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now.
“So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better.”
It’s no surprise, therefore, that millions of fans are now concerned that Justin may once again be suffering behind the scenes.

“Is it a sign?” a third asked, whilst a fourth continued: “I love that you’re not afraid to show your vulnerability and emotions. It’s always great to remember that behind every single celebrities, there’s still a human being. YOU ARE LOVED.”
Following the mass concern over Justin’s wellbeing, his wife Hailey, 27, took to the comments, where she left a lighthearted remark which many have interpreted as her means of reassuring her fans.
Alongside the upload, the model and beauty star candidly wrote: “a pretty crier 🥲”
Many fans then replied to Hailey’s words of comfort, with one responding: “@haileybieber console him for us”
“@haileybieber take care of him for us please, don’t leave him crying alone,” another penned.

Criticism comes after the ‘Boyfriend’ singer failed to perform during Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
Justin Bieber shocked fans by making a surprise cameo at Coachella 2024 – but social media users have all said the same thing about his performance.
On Friday (April 13), thousands of festival-goers flocked to California to experience the first weekend of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
This year, headliners Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat and rapper Tyler, The Creator led the pack. Peggy Gou, Reneé Rapp and Victoria Monét also performed across the weekend, alongside Ice Spice and Sabrina Carpenter.

Elsewhere, award-winning R&B star Tems stepped out and made her debut on the third day of the festival.
On Sunday (April 15), the 28-year-old performed various tracks from her 2020 album For Broken Ears and 2021’s follow-up If Orange Was a Place.
However, Tems whipped the crowd into a frenzy when she brought out surprise guests Wizkid, 33, and Justin, 30, for a raucous rendition of ‘Essence’.
The collaboration track was originally released in 2020, but gained traction and entered the Billboard charts nine months after its release. It became the first Afrobeats song to crack the top 10 and peaked at the number nine position.
The Nigerian singer/songwriter, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, teased Wizkid and Justin’s appearance earlier that day.
She took to social media before her performance and wrote: “Coachella! I’m too exciteddd I have a surprise tonight.”

Following the big reveal, fans have been discussing the ‘Baby’ hitmaker’s impromptu Coachella show – many blasting him for performing at the festival after snubbing a cameo at this year’s Super Bowl.
One music fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: “Justin Bieber’s performance at Coachella just reminded me he declined to perform at the Super Bowl.”
A second said: “Usher looking at Justin Bieber perform at Coachella but not Super Bowl.”
Another queried: “Justin Bieber came out for Coachella but not for the Super Bowl?”
“Oh so you could perform here but not the Super Bowl,” commented another.
However, many other fans were quick to praise Justin. One Instagram user said: “When he’s back on that stage doing what he was born to do, everything in the world seems a little better & brighter.
“Seriously. I hope he’s enjoyed the time he’s taken for himself, but that Legend better feel that love & know HE. IS. MISSED.”
Another said: “King Is Back.”
Criticism for Justin comes after the star reportedly declined to perform during Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
The snub came despite him being present at the recent NFL championship game with his wife, Hailey Bieber, 27.
In an interview with E! News, Usher revealed he and his protégée had a ‘brief conversation’ about a potential cameo, which was turned down by the Canadian.
“I think that it might’ve been the fact that he was just wanting to tell a different story right now and I understand that.

“But we did have a brief conversation. We’re going to do something else in the future. There’s no love lost or anything like that.”
The ‘Love in This Club’ singer went on to reveal that Justin ‘wasn’t the only’ person he contacted ahead of the performance and for fans to keep their eyes peeled for future collaborations.

Justin and Hailey Bieber are now expecting their first child together
Since going ‘Insta-official’ eight years ago with a lip-locking New Years Eve snap, Justin and Hailey Bieber have gone on to become one of this generations must high-profile celebrity power couples.
It turns out, however, that their fairytale romance actually dates back waaaay further than fans may have first thought, having first met in their early teenage years.

And in what many followers of their love story have deemed a ‘miracle’, their entire first meeting was actually caught on camera, with the footage once again doing the rounds on social media this week as the couple prepare for the birth of their first child together.
For those unfamiliar with their big-name romance, the Bieber’s tied the knot back in 2018 after years of on-and-off dating – following Justin’s split from fellow singer Selena Gomez – exchanging vows in a low-key courthouse ceremony in lower Manhattan.
Hailey – whose maiden name is Baldwin – then officially changed her surname to Bieber on social media, where she often gushes about her hubby being her ‘best friend’.

And in the years that followed, the couple announced the joyous news in May that they’re expecting their first child together later this year.
Amid the excitement over what’s to come for the married couple, many fans have seemingly forgot that – as we say – the pair’s romance actually dates back before they were first papped hand-in-hand together.
It’s true – it turns out that, back in 2009, at the height of his early success following the release of his debut single ‘One Time’, Justin and his future wife first came face-to-face in the Today Studios’ lobby.
Though just kids at the time, in a clip trending online, Justin could be seen first being introduced to Hailey’s father, film producer Steven Baldwin.

“My name’s Steve Baldwin,” the filmmaker tells the ‘Baby’ hitmaker, shaking his hand. “This is my daughter Hailey.”
“Nice to meet you,” Justin tells Hailey before going on to shake her hand.
And fans who are only just making the staggering realisation can’t help but express their shock over the matter.
Taking to Instagram – where Today’s official social media account shared the video again – one viewer jokingly gushed: “Biebs gave her a look.
“He liked what he saw but couldn’t make a play in front of her dad”.
